The Few... The Proud... The Defected

Sry for the lame subject, I am master of all that is phuny.

So I am one of what Therandus knows (thinks) to be a growing number of people who's PS3s have defected. Mine wasn't that bad though... It just stopped playing discs, which is way better than the "Red Ring of Death" when your system just stops working all together, at least I can get my info off the Harddrive (which I foegot to do and lost 100+ hours of gameplay saves).

Sooo, has anyone else's system broken before? How hard was it for you to get a new one?

I was in denial so it took me a week or two before I finally sent it in. The box/coffin/de-prider is on it's way which means I'll miss the release of GTA4 (which I will buy regardless of whether I have my ps3 then or not).

I had a ps2 that broke once... and i never got a new one... Also when the Red ring of death happens, you are supposed to remove the hard drive before sending it in... So you don't lose all of your data...

But i gave up on sony consoles after my ps2 died after a year of owning it...


What really sucks is that they are only manufacturing 40 gig ps3's starting soon... They are also discontinuing backwards compatibility on the new ones that are being made... that was a bad move by sony in my opinion...

I've had my ps3, since a year after it came out, whenever that was.

Still have a working gamboy pocket, color and advance, along with a ps1 (I assume it still works, I think I'm missing some cables >.>).
